Share a Fast in Atomic Fast

Share a completed or running fast in Atomic Fast on iPhone and Android. Preview the image, check its details and choose where to send it without changing your record.

You’ve finished a fast and want to send a friend the result. You don’t need to capture your whole screen or include your other records. Atomic Fast can turn that one fast into an image you can preview before choosing where it goes.

There are two separate decisions: saving the fast in your history, and sharing a picture of it. Keeping those apart avoids sending an image that doesn’t match the record you meant to keep.

The short version

Open a saved fast, tap Share this fast, check the preview and tap Share to open your phone’s sharing controls. Choose a destination and complete its send or save action. You can also share a running fast from the timer without ending it. The image is a snapshot: it won’t update later, and sharing doesn’t save changes you’ve made in Edit Fast.

Before you share

These steps use English labels after sign-in and initial setup. Sharing is available on both iPhone and Android without Atomic+ and doesn’t use an AI scan. You need a completed record or a fast that has already started.

For a finished fast, save its completion first. Both Save & Close and Save Without Details keep the completed session. Our first-fast guide explains the start and finish controls if you haven’t recorded one yet.

The generated image is a portrait PNG, 1080 × 1350 pixels, with a 4:5 shape. It uses Atomic Fast’s card layout rather than a screenshot of everything currently on your phone.

Share a completed fast

  1. Find the saved record

On the timer screen, tap the body of the LATEST FAST card to open that session in Edit Fast. For an older session, tap the LATEST FAST heading to open Fasting Sessions, then select the completed fast you want.

Check that you’ve chosen the intended day. An overnight fast can be easy to confuse with the next day’s entry; our fasting-history guide explains how records and days are organized.

  2. Check the times before making the image

Review the start, end and duration. If they’re already correct, you can go straight to sharing without editing anything.

If you change a time or goal, tap Save Changes, then reopen that saved record before sharing. The share preview can use values currently shown in the editor even when you haven’t saved them. Opening or sharing that preview doesn’t commit the edits to your history.

For example, if you correct a forgotten start time and immediately share, the image can reflect the correction while the saved record still has the old time. Save, reopen and check first. The guide to correcting fasting times covers the editing steps and their limits.

  3. Open and inspect the preview

Tap the sharing icon at the top of Edit Fast, labelled Share this fast for accessibility. On iPhone, it is a square with an upward arrow; on Android, it is the connected-dot share symbol.

The Share your fast preview lets you inspect the card before handing it to another app. Read the duration and wording rather than judging only the ring. Completed-fast cards use a full ring even when that session ended before its chosen goal; a full ring alone doesn’t establish that you reached the goal.

  4. Choose where it goes

Tap Share in the preview. Your phone opens its sharing controls with the image attached. Choose an available destination, such as a messaging app, and follow that destination’s send or save controls.

Atomic Fast doesn’t choose an audience or publish automatically. Check the recipient, conversation or account before completing the action. Opening another app isn’t proof the image was sent; check the result there. Cancelling the sharing controls leaves the saved fast in your history.

What the image includes

The card contains the fast’s duration, wording for its running or completed state, a dotted ring and Atomic Fast branding. Depending on the session, it can include a goal or phase label. Phase wording is based on elapsed time, not a sensor measurement of what is happening in your body.

The card itself doesn’t include your profile name, session notes or meal log. That doesn’t make the destination anonymous: a message or social post can still identify you through your account and anything you add alongside the picture.

There isn’t a card-format picker or a set of switches for hiding individual statistics in this flow. Inspect the actual preview and share only if you’re comfortable with what’s visible. It is an image of one fast, not a backup or export of your full history.

Share a running fast without stopping it

Once a fast has started, use the share icon beside the timer ring. This opens a live-fast card preview. Sharing leaves the fast running and doesn’t create a completed record.

The word “live” describes the fast being captured. It doesn’t turn the resulting image into a live link. If you open a preview at 3 hours 15 minutes, that picture still says 3 hours 15 minutes two hours later, even if the timer has reached 5 hours 15 minutes.

For a newer image, close the preview and open it again from the timer. A picture already sent to someone won’t change. The example below illustrates that distinction, not a recommended fasting duration.

If the sharing controls aren’t where you expect

No icon beside the timer: open Me → Appearance and check Share Button on Timer. That setting controls the quick icon beside the ring. It doesn’t remove sharing from a completed record’s editor. The timer icon is also hidden before a scheduled fast has started.

The preview has an old duration: close it and reopen from the running timer. If you’re sharing a completed fast, check its saved start and end times instead; waiting won’t change a completed session’s duration.

Your preferred destination isn’t listed: the phone’s sharing controls determine which compatible installed apps and actions appear. Atomic Fast doesn’t provide a separate connection to every social network. Check the destination app rather than changing the fasting record.

Tapping Share doesn’t open the phone’s controls: close and reopen the preview, then try once more. If it still fails, leave the saved fast intact and contact support. Don’t end, delete or recreate a session just to troubleshoot an image handoff.

Frequently asked questions

Does sharing cost anything or use an AI allowance? The sharing feature doesn’t require Atomic+ or request an AI analysis. Requirements in the destination app, such as signing in or having connectivity to send a message, are separate.

Why did a preview appear after I finished a fast? After Save & Close, a completed fast lasting at least 16 hours can open the preview automatically. Save Without Details doesn’t trigger that same prompt. Neither action sends an image automatically, and 16 hours is not a minimum duration for sharing from a saved record.

Can I share directly from the completion screen? Yes, it has Share this fast too. That action is separate from saving the completion details. Saving first and opening the record afterward makes it easier to check that the image matches the fast you’ve kept.

Will correcting the record update an image I’ve already sent? No. Save the correction, reopen the record and create a new image. Any earlier copy remains unchanged in the destination where you shared it.

Sources and product notes

Product information checked: November 4, 2026.

Product verification: We checked both platforms’ timer and history entry points, completion and editing actions, sharing preferences, card contents, image rendering and system sharing handoffs against current code and product documentation. The guide describes those supported paths; no mobile-device walkthrough was performed. Detailed paths and the checked revision are retained in the editorial review record.

Scope and limitations: The card’s elapsed-time labels are not physiological measurements. Selecting a destination doesn’t establish successful publication there. The diagrams explain action boundaries and an illustrative elapsed-time example; they are not app screenshots or recommended fasting schedules. No clinical benefit is claimed.
